For initial claims, no fee is charged before VA's first decision (38 C.F.R. § 14.636(c)) — the standard arrangement is a 20% contingent fee on past-due benefits paid directly by VA from your retroactive award (§ 14.636(h)). For appeals and post-decision work, flat-fee or hourly engagements are available. Every fee structure is agreed in writing before we begin.
